The Ostrý Roháč – Snowdrifts and Nice Views
28. 12. 2017
At the weekend my friend and I set out to cross the Roháče. The first day we climbed the ridge into the first saddle where we built a tent.
Thanks to a good down jacket, I survived the night in -10 ° C even in a weak sleeping bag. In the morning we had a view of the whole ridge. It was a beautiful view, but it raised fears because there was maybe more snow than we reckoned.
But we went to far according to our plan. Under the Ostrý Roháč in the West Tatras we put on crampons and went up. A lot of snow was soon on the ridge, we had no other climbing equipment so we turned around and return.
So at least I got to the top of the Ostrý Roháč just with a rucksack.
I very much appreciate the warm Kilpi Svalbard down jacket and the waterproof Kilpi Hurricane jacket.
